Relación entre la percepción ambiental y los trastornos del sueño en áreas de alto tráfico vehicular de Cochabamba, Bolivia

El crecimiento urbano acelerado en Cochabamba ha intensificado la exposición cotidiana a ruido ambiental, congestión vehicular y percepción de contaminación atmosférica, elementos frecuentemente relacionados con alteraciones del descanso nocturno desde una dimensión subjetiva comunitaria. Con el objetivo de describir la relación entre percepción ambiental y trastornos del sueño en zonas de alto tráfico, se desarrolló un estudio observacional–descriptivo de corte transversal con 420 participantes durante la gestión 2025. Se aplicaron encuestas estructuradas validadas sobre calidad del sueño, percepción de ruido, densidad vehicular y variables sociodemográficas, incorporando escalas autoinformadas de somnolencia diurna. El análisis estadístico se efectuó en SPSS v.26 mediante frecuencias, medias y tablas cruzadas. La edad promedio fue de 37,2 años; 66,4 % reportó percepción elevada de ruido, 61,0 % despertares nocturnos recurrentes y 49,5 % somnolencia diurna frecuente. No se infiere causalidad; los resultados evidencian coexistencia significativa entre percepciones ambientales adversas y alteraciones del sueño, aportando insumos descriptivos para planificación urbana y vigilancia sanitaria local.
