Modelo predictivo de la esperanza y la depresión sobre el riesgo suicida en adolescentes de Puno

El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar el modelo predictivo que vincula la esperanza, la depresión y la ideación suicida en adolescentes de instituciones públicas y privadas de la región de Puno, Perú. Se empleó un diseño cuantitativo, no experimental y transversal, con una muestra de 410 adolescentes de 11 a 17 años. Se aplicaron el Inventario de Depresión Infantil (CDI-2), el Cuestionario de Conductas Suicidas Revisado (SBQ-R) y la Escala de Esperanza para Niños (CHS). Los instrumentos mostraron adecuados índices de fiabilidad (α > .83). El análisis correlacional reveló una asociación positiva y significativa entre depresión e ideación suicida (r = .542, p < .001), mientras que la esperanza no presentó correlaciones significativas con las demás variables. No obstante, el modelo de ecuaciones estructurales evidenció efectos directos significativos: la depresión predijo de manera robusta la ideación suicida (β = .63, p < .001) y la esperanza mostró un efecto protector pequeño pero significativo (β = –.04, p = .030). El modelo presentó un excelente ajuste global (CFI = .993; RMSEA = .030) y explicó el 29.6 % de la varianza de la ideación suicida. En conjunto, los resultados indican que la depresión constituye el principal predictor del riesgo suicida en adolescentes, mientras que la esperanza ejerce un efecto protector sutil que solo se hace evidente al corregir el error de medición mediante modelos latentes. Se recomienda integrar el fortalecimiento de la esperanza en programas preventivos escolares y comunitarios orientados a disminuir la vulnerabilidad emocional y el riesgo suicida en adolescentes.
