Resumen

Introduction: Strengthening language competencies during early childhood is essential for children's comprehensive development and academic performance. In this regard, educational games provide a pedagogical alternative that promotes learning through participatory activities. Objectives: To evaluate the impact of implementing educational games on the development of language competencies in children aged 4 to 6 at Liceo Los Alisos Educational Unit, considering listening and reading comprehension, oral and written expression, and vocabulary. Methods: A quantitative study with an experimental design was conducted using an experimental group and a control group. Data were collected through teacher questionnaires, structured observation sheets, and parent surveys administered before and after the educational intervention. Results: Children in the experimental group achieved significant improvements across all evaluated language dimensions, including participation, verbal fluency, comprehension, written production, and vocabulary, whereas the control group showed minimal changes. Families also reported noticeable improvements in communication and interest in language-related activities. Conclusions: The implementation of educational games significantly strengthened children's language competencies, promoting active learning processes, greater communicative interaction, and positive educational outcomes both inside and outside the classroom.
